December 2019 Group Tours, Check in at the Welcome/Reception Desk, Level 1, Monday, 02. December 2019

State Library of Queensland group tours are a great way to get to know the Library. You will be introduced to State Library spaces, collections and general services. Led by Volunteer Guides, tours are led for ***** groups as well as Upper Primary (Years 5 and above), Secondary and Tertiary students. Tours last 45-60 minutes, including time allocated to check bags. If your group has special requirements please contact us directly to discuss how we can assist. Tours are contingent on volunteer guide availability and your booking does not guarantee a tour.
Please note that tours are not offered on public holidays and may be limited during busy festival periods.
Available Days: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
Available Session Times: 10:00am, 11:00am, 1:00pm

Number of attendees
To ensure quality, tour groups are limited to a maximum of 20 participants per tour (not including supervising adults for school groups). A maximum of 2 tour groups (40 participant tickets) are available during each time slot. Larger groups may wish to book across multiple time slots and are welcome to do so.
Please let us know, via the booking form, if members of your group have mobility challenges and we'll ensure the tour meets their needs. State Library also offers a range of adaptive technology devices to enable people with a disability to use the collections and resources.
Membership is free, and easy to obtain online. It provides many benefits including free access to databases, digitised collections, streaming movies and video training courses. Members can also book study rooms, and save searches and tag items in the OneSearch catalogue. To maximise use of State Library services and collections, we strongly encourage all Queensland tour participants to become SLQ members prior to visiting.
In order to borrow materials for independent study please ensure everyone in your group has a Queensland residential address and becomes a member online before arriving. Book the approximate number of “Membership Cards” needed and allow for additional time at the end of your tour for assistance.
Additional notes for school groups (years 5-12)
One ***** supervisor is required for each group of 20 students. Please book the appropriate amount of supervising ***** tickets for each group of 20 students. A supervising ***** is expected to supervise students at all times including during independent study.
To borrow, students 16 years and over need both proof of age and a current, non-school residential address. Students 15 years and under should bring a signed parental/guardian consent form (link below).
