Learn about the fascinating functions of our bodies; from the organs and muscles to the skeleton and joints. This STEM learning opportunity will help you: scaffold children’s interest in the human body discover the benefits of using and making scientific models in an early childhood setting understand why and how to evaluate scientific models with children in age-appropriate ways engage in hands-on experiences with the human body through your senses collect ideas for age-appropriate experiences with the topic benefit from the exchange with like-minded educators and reflect on your current practice feel confident in unlocking the wonders of STEM You will also receive comprehensive materials with lots of STEM ideas and information about inquiry-based practices. Little Scientists workshops are endorsed to provide NESA Registered Professional Development for teachers accredited at Proficient Teacher level. Each workshop counts as five hours and 30 minutes of PD. Date: Tuesday, 3 December 2019 Time: 9:15am for a 9:30am start. Workshop finishes at 4:30pm Location: Addison Road Community Centre, Building 21, 142 Addison Road, Marrickville, NSW 2204 Public transport: Take bus route 428 stops right outside the venue. The closest train station is Stanmore and 15 mins walk from the venue. Parking: Free parking is available within the vicinity of the venue.
