Prepare for a mouthwatering day of HOLI festivities featuring MOMO, bands, djs, Nepalese and eastern stage performances, market stalls, food trucks and side shows.

HOLI (pronunciation: /ˈhoʊliː/; Sanskrit: होली Holī) is the Hindu spring festival in India and Nepal, also known as the "festival of colours" or the "festival of love”.

MOMO is a type of South Asian dumpling; native to Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan, Sikkim state and Darjeeling district of India. It is similar to Chinese baozi and jiaozi, Mongolian buuz, Japanese gyoza and Korean mandu.

The Velodrome will encompass over a dozen unique Dumpling marquees boasting different Momo styles, wraping techniques, recipes and flavours.

With entertainment over two stages, M Festival's main stage is headlined by internationally acclaimed Nepalese traditional folk band; KUTUMBA whose combination of explosive high energy percussion, combined with mystical soundscapes, stun audiences at major music festivals around the world.

Support by: JAKÜBI, whose unique soul influenced flavour stems from an irresistible combination of jangly guitars, hip-hop beats and sailing synth rhythms. Melding the sounds of a talk box one minute and reggae-inspired guitar the next, Jakübi efforletlessly toe the line between classic soul/pop and infectious experimental.

Expect a full spectrum of the most unique eastern influenced entertainment and urban grooves our city has to offer. With the likes of Chinese lion dancers juxtaposed against beats from Melbourne band ‘Big Words’ it'll be a vibrant fusion of soul, hip hop and R&B. From breakdancing and banghra, to Eastern Seaboard Electric Soul Ensemble, rare grooves will be rolling out of Bollywood dj sets

Under a rainbow sky of colour, the aroma of dumplings and the hustle and bustle of food trucks, M Festival is the ultimate love letter goodbye to another lazy Melbourne summer.

M Festival is a gold coin donation event, with all proceeds raised going to the NRNA. The Non Resident Nepali Association’s Earthquake Reconstruction Project aims to build 1000 homes for victims of the 2015 Nepal Earthquake that injured nearly 22,000 people.
