Graham ‘Buzz’ Bidstrup, Aly Cook, Dean Ray & Adam James

July 2020 the Northern Territory will be filled with the sounds of 4 songwriters from Australia and Aotearoa as Buzz, Dean, Aly & Adam take their songs from Uluru to Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Katherine and Darwin. A special show, where the four songwriters take the stage together to share stories and inspirations, taking us through upbeat Americana, County, Blues & Folk and some familiar 70’s and 80’s iconic Rock and Pop.

Graham ‘Buzz’ Bidstrup was a founding member of ‘The Party Boys’, ‘GANGgajang’ and Co writer and Producer of ‘The Angels’ 1980 top 10 hit ‘No Secrets’. He was a Writer and Producer for the ABC TV Series ‘Sweet and Sour’ and the cult surf film ‘Mad Wax’. Buzz’s songs for ‘GANGgajang’ include ‘Gimme Some Lovin’ and ‘Circles in the Sand’ inspired by the amazing story of the Pintupi 9, the last Aboriginal family to discover the outside world in October 1984.

The show will feature the exceptional guitar talent and song writing skills of Dean Ray. Dean first dazzled Australia as runner up of X-Factor with his show stopping interpretation of ‘Bette Davis Eyes’. He will be showcasing music from this ARIA charting gold selling album, as well as his compelling new material, that includes his emotive song ‘Simple Things’ for ‘The Show Must Go On’, a film that explores the unsaid topic of mental illness in the entertainment world.

Adam James is an Indigenous Australian Country/Blues singer from Moreton Bay Queensland. He has recently returned from Nashville, where he recorded his first full length album with Producer/Guitarist Stuie French. Adam was the host of ‘Letterbox’, a TV Series broadcast on Fox and NITV, and Winner of the Deadly Award in 2008 for ‘Best New Talent’. Adam was also a ‘Winner of the 2015 TSA Songwriter Award for Alt Country, Blues, Bluegrass’ category as well as ‘2012 APCMA International Indigenous Artist of the Year’. He has been a ‘Finalist in the Tamworth Toyota Star Maker Quest’ and will showcase his new album on this tour.

Aly Cook is an Award Winning Singer Songwriter from Aotearoa New Zealand who has developed a deep love of the red centre and the top end, from her extensive travels in Australia over many years. Aly’s first single ‘Red Dirt Road Trip’, from her 3rd album ‘Caught in the Middle’, attained the Number 1 position on the Australian Airplay chart for 5 weeks running and the video for her single was filmed in Alice Springs. Cook’s song ‘Kimberley’ was used in a TV advertisement across Australia for the Eastern Kimberley Region. Aly has just released a reimagining of the Kasey Chambers hit ‘Am I Not Pretty Enough’ and will showcase songs from her extensive catalogue.

This is a show that is not to be missed and definitely one for true lovers of great songs and popular music.
